Sleepy? But can’t get to or stay asleep?
I’ve mentioned this in a few newsletters but it seems to be such a hot topic I’m going to mention it again here…
Sleep… or lack of it… seems to be the number 1 problem next to weight issues that men and women face today…
Try this: eat a bit of whole grain with protein right before you go to bed. Whole grains have carbs that will increase the serotonin in your brain. Eating a meal with carbs, along with proteins that have the amino acid tryptophan, can help insomnia and balance the blood sugar throughout the night.
A half-cup of whole grain cereal with skim organic milk about an hour before bed is great. Or hummus on a whole-wheat pita or a rice cake topped with a tomato and a slice of turkey breast.
Take about 4000iu of D3 vitamin and off you go to slumber land…
